haha a Poetic Death

seems to fit a poor malnourished college student, doesn't it?

i just don't have much appetite for food anymore.

For the last two weeks I’ve been completely distracted, so many ideas, visual sequences, & such running through my head for illustrations, comics, & writings. I’ve been jotting down poems and typing out short stories late at night instead of finishing my schoolwork. There’s no use, I’m passing & that’s all I care about right now.

I’m scrounging the internet for every art & writing contest known to man & angel.

That’s all that matters right now…

-finishing Accounts of the Fallen & its prequel: A Gentleman’s Son

-illustrating & working on film/graphic novel sequences for everything in mah head. O___o

My style is improving so much ^^ *merry irish jig of joy*

Oh! Has anyone heard of Ergo Proxy? It's a new anime coming out that is supposedly a different take on Huxley's A Brave New World. And it's also predicted to be one of the best animes out this November...dark, gripping, & utopian. A great soundtrack as far as I've delved into. *claps impressed* & the art seems extraordinary.

Check this one out. Seriously fellas.

Wading Through Filth...

Gah, so much to deal with right now. X . x

One rather important thing being my major.

Well...in all my science classes I've endured enough to realize I am not meant for the white lab coat. I truly don't belong in biochemistry. It's not that I couldn't do it well enough...it's that I'm not exactly bent on being locked away somewhere remote in a research facility for the rest of my life.

I'm one of those uber sci-fi obsessed individuals who thought they could actually pull off creativity in the lab as well as write about it in science fiction. Ha. I'm quite content to write extensively about sci-fi instead. That I'll never give up. ^^

There's just so much crap to wade through in science: creativity is snuffed out by scientific methodology & idiotic cynical paticularities of the fellow scientists themselves before anything at all can happen. Grr. *growl* -.-

Sitting in on Mellor's intro to drawing class has reminded me of how much I do belong in the arts. Everyone's been so kind to me, letting me slip in under Mellor's wings, & actually enjoy life. And all the little encounters with fellow artists and writers around me make the calling rather clear. Not to mention I'm drawing all the time all over my chemistry, biology, & other notebooks at every "spare" moment. And if I'm not doodling, I sure as heck am doing photography or writing on my stories instead of all that science homework. ;)

The parents don't know yet. My mom will be alarmed, but ok after a little bit. My dad will kill me. But it's my life, I'm tired of pretending I can do this. I'm feeling called down another path...whether there is room for sympathy or not. :) I'm going to finally set myself free to fly.

So, God willing:

Major: Art...in illustration or photography with a lot of painting & comic/manga work thrown in

Minor: Creative Writing...need experiment & continue improving for my sci-fi, fantasy, & other novels

Well...anticipating two mangas next month:

And my Trinity Blood dvd came...& blew me away.

The only thing that annoyed me was that little girl's laugh in episode 2

...lumpy gravy biscuits, it was jarring. o.- *cringes at the memory*

But everything else was drool worthy. ^^

Catching Up

Man, I sure died for a while there. -___-

Pulled a few all nighters (not all at once, mind you ^^), had midterms, & somehow managed to snag a boyfriend somewhere in there. Note me if you care for details. For the rest of you silent stalkers, his name is Russel. O__o

Well, I'm preparing for enough art contests to drive me properly insane...though still trying desperately to practice realisim, draw comics, & illustrate my stories/manga. Commissions are...hehe nonexistent at the moment. Except for one friend, who's commissioned me for several book covers to his fantasy series. And this is a great honor for me ^^ I'm quite excited about it! *does a merry little dance*

Ideas have been flowing freely (probably a form of procrastination for school work, that's generally how it seems to go...) & I've got some awesome tidbits prepared or presketched, which I hope will blow people away. :D

Other than that: I'm still breathing. My internet works. My story notes haven't suddenly gone up in flames. My betta fish, Cecil, is wiggling about all happy-like for me. I've just finished taking a long hot shower. I have delish beef lo mein & orange cream sobe. And I'm due to have a cozy breakfast in a little wayward cafe with Russel. ^^ My life is wonderful, despite any stress. :]

To everyone out there, I miss you all desperately! Note me please so I can burn off 2 calories from my beef lo mein typing in your direction & give you a much needed poke. o____O

Oh yes! I'll be sending everyone a little care package tidbit sometime here. Please note me with your college address so I know to send you something ^^ Take care all.

Death by Art

Believe me, it's the best way to crash & burn. Haha, basically, art is going to kill me.

Yay for doodles. :D This is outside on our (Jade & my) door. So is this:

Instead of sleeping, I devote the majority of my sleeping hours to illustrating, sketching comics/manga, doodling random chibis, photographing scenes, & writing sci-fi or fantasy. My body is screaming at me for naptimes during every lecture, yet it wakes me up every 2-4 hours when I do sleep at night. A full 8-9 hours is the goal for tonight & tomorrow night. Hehe, right. o____O

It was incredible last night. The showing started at midnight, went till 3:00 with Oculus first & then Livelihood second. Since Kari, my goth friend, was co-hosting the festival, I got to go out to dinner before the showing with the director of Livelihood & the main actor of Oculus. Needless to say, it was an awesome time of talking about anything & everything with fellow artists by a cool little cafe/bar place in downtown Lexington. It's always so awesome to meet someone else driven full force by that artistic inner fire & watch how they channel it. ^^

But I'm getting a copy of Oculus sometime in the near future, so when everyone returns to our snow-buried, dear home for winter break, we can have a get together to watch it if anyone wants. ^^ Don't feel obliged if it's not your style. I'll just be a geek & get some shivers by watching it alone. *nods merrily*

Well, off to study biology until I either finish or get sick of it...and then back to the wonderful world of doodling. O______________o

Commissions are coming along & pieces for my two art competitions are progressing as well.

Well...haha, I feel completely forgetful. >_<

I told you guys that I would be seeing the movie tonight, right? *scrolls down to look at her exact stupid words*

Hehe, yes, I did. It wouldn't make sense for me to put up posters the day of, now would it? So no...I am viewing it this Friday along with the other zombie comedy. That was my bad, fellas. *slaps herself across the forehead* meh meh. :D

Though I did frequent some poetic & grundgy, out of the way cafes. They had bins of chocolate covered coffee beans *eyes widen & mouth cracks open enough to drool* Downtown Lexington is almost a mini-Chicago atmosphere. It's awesome. The bookstores here, would make you drool. Mangas were on sale everywhere & I picked up an incredible sci-fi novel. It's been my sanctuarity though all this work & insanity. You can see it at the top of this post.

Ok, I need coffee to stay awake through the rest of my homework & possibly some writing. I'm so exhausted from walking through Lexington all afternoon. Does this make me whimpish? -.-

Hehe, I almost got into a punk nightclub bar (to put up posters). There were these bouncers at the door looking sinister & when my friend (who's hosting the film festival) went in to say hi to a friend inside, they forced me to stay outside & wait for her. From what I could see inside, it looked wicked. The bouncers immediately cut the sinister act though when I was alone with them. One started talking to me about how he was a writer & the other (a cool black guy who had these incredible amber eyes that could turn from the coldest stone to the warmest fire) was sweet to me. I think the black guy wanted to give me a pat on the head, the way I was standing on my tip-toes, looking into the bar behind him. XD I'm so childish. Meh, I can never get into a nightclub X(

Anyhow, off to blink confusedly at my Calculus. Take care all.

Smothered Inspiration

So much inspiration around me & absolutely no time at all to sit back & draw or write. X(

Homework has usurped my life. ><

Though, on the bright side, I'm going to put up posters for a mini film festival at 1:00 pm. Then later tonight, I'm going to see the two films. The director of one of the films & the main actor in the other are both attending the viewing tonight, so it should be an awesome, hardcore time. The films are short, one a horror/comedy & the other a psychological thriller.

Coconut

Oh yes...I loathe coconuts. HATE them.

Ever since I was a child, the idea of a coconut appealed to me. And never in a million milennias did I conceive that this "coconut" (with its intriguing appearance like a rock waiting to be cracked open so you could discover exotic crystals inside) was exactly like eating weak milk & sugar solidified into a flaky form of shortening. I remember my disgust. My extreme plunge of disappointment and betrayal.

At supper, however, ladies & gentlemen, I found joy. I found...a filling for that deep, coconut filled void that had been carved into my heart as a little child.

I paused in my usual wanderings around the cafeteria for edibles & locked my gluttonous gaze on this lemon-meringue styled piece of pie. It was beautiful.

I took it, sat down, my fork slicing cleanly through it's creamy filling side...and let my taste buds go on a roadtrip they'll never forget.

It wasn't lemon meringue...or banana cream, as my friend suggested before I bit into it...no it was coconut cream. And it was complete, all-consuming bliss. I scarfed it down, knowing full well it was coconut cream. And nothing else matters at meals, anymore. Because that coconut cream pie has usurped my life in that single slice.

I forgive you coconut of years past. I know now that you were not sculpted by Satan

O_________o Ok, really...good night all. I need to restore my sanity by sometime tomorrow, & I've obviously lost almost all of it now due to mysterious leaks (onto this post)...so yes. Pleasant dreams & waking for you all.
